School Time

The kids love having "school time". I find it a lot of fun to keep them challenged and interested. We usually try to do the reading, spelling, and writing of the mornings.

Lindsey knows the alphabet and is currently working on learning all of the letter sounds. She's doing great with knowing the sounds and recognizing most letters. She is also learning to write her name, which she finds very exciting. We have just recently started learning to write the alphabet. She tends to get bored with the entire alphabet, so we usually just do 1/2 one day and the other 1/2 the next day.

Lindsey also enjoys workbooks and is currently working preschool and kindergarten material.

Shane flies through the workbooks I have for him. They are kindergarten and 1st grade material. The repetitive nature of these books keeps him up on what he has learned.

He's always asking me to try to 'stump him' and he loves a challenge.

One of Shane's favorite things to do is to measure things. I found a fun worksheet that included a ruler. He had fun measuring all sorts of things.
